These first views are all taken from the top of the Spanish Steps, which was only about a 10 minute walk from our hotel.
The windows in the picture on the right look into the room where John Keats died.

Behind and below us are various forums that are being excavated. We are only a few blocks from the Colosseum.

I created this blog mostly to share with some friends my pictures of Italy. This view is from the top of the Spanish Steps. Later in the day, the steps were almost covered with people and the wares of street vendors--sunglasses, mostly--laid out on white cloths.
